DIEHL, James Franklin

James Franklin Diehl, who was reared in Newtown, leaving here in 1940 to work in the Steel Mills in Gary, Ind. died in the Gary Methodist Hospital on March 7 after suffering a stroke.

 Born March 5, 1907 in Veedersburg, the son of Charles and Jennie Lou Walden he attended the Newtown High School until his senior year.

  Survivors include his wife, Mildred and four sons, James Clinton of Alamgarde, N. M. and James, Gregory, and Michael all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Woodford (Martha) Bowles of Newtown and Mrs. Frank (Hazel) Stout of Hobart.

  Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 10 in the Geisen Funeral Home in Gary and burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobart with the Rev. Ernest Harold officiating.

  While residing in Newtown he was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
